Chance 02:37
It seemed to me at the time that I had had a thought That things were gonna get easier before they got better I turned around just in time to see it round the bend Turn left, walk off stage I had reached the end It ends with a chance The night replaces the day Darkness fills the air Then fades away I walked around I found a note lying on the ground I picked it up read it twice And I discarded it I had to go back an hour or two later Because it seemed (to me) That it contained a detailed list of everything I was to do For the next several weeks (in order) It ends with a chance The night replaces the day Darkness fills the air Then fades away It seemed to me at the time that I had had a thought That things were gonna get so much easier (this time) I was deluded It ends with a chance -February 1999/January 2002, Michael Anderson

I saw a movie a home movie With me as a child I think I saw it once I know I've seen it But, I want to see it again and again and again... There was this boy and there was this girl And they built a tower meant to reach all the way up to the sky They just wanted to say hi (or so they said) But when they came down they couldn't understand anyone at all they couldn't understand anything at all KILL THE LIGHTS! -January 1999/July 2001, Michael Anderson

about

from the original press sheet:

TURN PALE is a band, from Bloomington, Indiana, seeking to explore the dark corners of the dancefloor, within a decidedly post-punk aesthetic.

Though TURN PALE includes members of DREKKA and PANOLPLY ACADEMY, the resulting sounds are far from either of these bands, opting instead to caress a much darker, Rough Trade sound from the early 80's'

On their debut single, TURN PALE offers:
• ‘Chance’ - catchy and danceable ala early P.I.L./The Pop Group, with a raw, echoing production that invokes a vintage post punk/death rock sound.

• ‘Mesmerized’ - a cautionary tale of sorts. Devilish vocals, tribal beats, and pure emotion swells up. The Tower of Babel as seen through the Virgun Prunes.

FAVORITE PRESS QUOTES SO FAR:
‘...their horrid clamor of vampire tales and birthday parties... caressing a much darker, Rough Trade sound from the early 80's’- Bloomington Independent

“A recently formed plain-clothes group of musicians that coin a style reminiscent of The Birthday Party and Joy Division, I was psyched to hear something so raw and genuinely inspired by the old school produced from a new band.” - Starvox

“ 3 parts Factory, 1 part 4AD, 1 part Mute” - Indiana Shows List

“If The Birthday Party and Gang of Four fucked in a dirty grimy Missisippian shot-gun-shack then TURN PALE is what they'd give birth to.” - Temporary Structures

about

Turn Pale Bloomington, Indiana

From 2000-2007, TURN PALE (from Bloomington, IN) explored the corners of the dancefloor, with a decidedly punk aesthetic; opting to caress the dark, Rough Trade/Factory/Mute sound from the early 80's post-punk/goth movement. Darkness does not necessitate evil.

Known for a highly energetic live show, TURN PALE toured the US several times w/ friends such as Black Eyes, Love Life, and Radio Berlin.
